How to figure out gematria

Gematria is an ancient system used to calculate numerical values in Hebrew words and phrases. It has been used over the centuries by Jewish scholars to interpret Scripture, but it is also used today in many other spiritual and mystical contexts. If you want to figure out the gematria of a word or phrase, here are some steps to help you.

1. Take the letters of your chosen word or phrase, note their numerical values, and add them together. In Hebrew, each letter has its own numerical value (Aleph=1, Bet=2, etc.). For example, if your chosen phrase was "blessing" its numerical value would be beth (2) + lamed (30) + shin (300) + vav (6) + nun-sofit(700) = 1038.

2. Calculate the gematria for long words and phrases by breaking them into smaller sub-phrases - this will make it easier to work out the total value of the whole. For instance, if you wanted to calculate the gematria value of "love of G-d" that would be ahava (13) + mead Hashem (386). This would give you a total of 399 for that phrase.

3. Once you have calculated the overall value of your chosen words or phrases, you can use that number as a tool for further exploration and interpretation. Gematria values often have deeper connections or meanings associated with them and so diving deeper into these connections can help shed further light on their possible significance.
